Biography:
It has been a lifelong dream of this 24 year old, Canadian-born country starlet to sing professionally. It all came to fruition in 2005 with one very inspiring trip to Nashville, where she attended the Radio Broadcast Seminar. This fateful trip began what seems to be the most exciting ride of her life.
Her journey didn’t start here. Ally Howatt studied vocal technique under Canadian rock legend Ray Lyell of “Ray Lyell & The Storm”. Ray recognized her many gifts and convinced her to begin writing her own songs and learn to play the guitar. Excited as she was, she took time off from her post-secondary studies to start building a career in music. After writing a number of songs, she picked 10 dynamic tracks and decided to record an album. The album, titled “Ride of Your Life”, was completed and released independently in 2008.

Her love for music only grew with every step. She consistently placed in every vocal competition she entered. She won first place in the Country 95.3 Canada Day Jam Big Break competition with her album’s title track “Ride of Your Life”. This gave her the opportunity to perform for thousands of people at the Canada Day Jam and share the stage with high-profile acts such as the Higgins, Deric Ruttan, Crystal Shawanda and Johnny Reid and provide some well-deserved exposure for her album. Her first single, “Matter of Time” was released to radio and it was an instant hit. This catchy country tune was on request lists across the province. Ally made several radio appearances and was even invited to co-host the Morning Show on Country 95.3.
Presently, Ally Howatt is performing across Canada. She is in high demand for public, private and corporate events alike. Backing her is a band that together has over 40 years of playing experience combined. They currently tour under the name “The Ally Howatt Band”, and there isn’t a crowd they can’t please. Since the incarnation of this band, they’ve shared the stage with some of country music’s finest including Aaron Pritchett, Gord Bamford, Tara Oram, Doc Walker and more.
